Both are Hoffman prints.
But, the black one, I'd sell my right arm to locate more. It's Hoffman of California "Bohemian Chic." There was six yards on the bolt and I bought all of them and used the one for this bag. And, of course, mom wants a yard of it, so that leaves me with four yards left and I just want MORE! I love it so much. Anyway, I can carry the baby animal one around this summer and the black one is for winter. |
Very pretty! dont blame you for keeping them for yourself!!!
|
Hi. Those are gorgeous! I love black fabric with the bright colors like this, too! Does it have any metallic in it? kinda looks like it, but I can't tell.
The animal fabric is cute, too. great work on those totes! |
Thanks. The black fabric doesn't have any sparkle or metallic in it. But, the colors are so vibrant, you have the feeling they're electric. I really like it. It always drew my attention on the shelf when it was still on the bolt.

Wow, that is stunning fabric too! I remember seeing some quilt made up in a quilt shop that had some fabric very similar to that and I was really impressed and asked to buy some. But, of course, (as is always the case) that fabric wasn't available.
That's the problem with some of these places you go in. They've always got beautiful things hanging around and you want to make them and the fabric is never available. It's always from another year. |
those are totally awesome nice jog
|
oops job

oh Cordellia, you've really got it going on with those bags, how do they sell? I would think quite well, and if you don't mind my noseyness, how much do you sell them for?
|
Cute!!! :D

Cordelia I am in love with your bags. They are really great looking. i am still in love with the first batch you showed several months ago. You do such a good job. Still thinking about the blue denim w/ animal print. I want one!!!!!
|
Very nice bags I can't decide which one i like the most.
|
Thanks everyone. I love looking at pictures of everybody's stuff too. I loved those flip-flop bags the other lady made. I can't remember her name, but they are so clever.
I'm working on a lap throw carpenter wheel now and some blocks for other folks here in the block swap that started this June. And I am having a great time with the round robin. We're making good time with it too. We've only got tow more borders to put on. So, if another one gets started and somebody who isn't in this one wants to climb aboard, I'll be there! |
they are both wonderful-and you deserve them both!

where did you get the pattern i love your totes thanks dorothy from tenn

Thanks for the links. I checked them out. I thought that the black fabric was the "Bohemian Chic." But, when I google it, there's all kinds of "Bohemian Chic" fabrics out there.
So, I don't know how long that bolt was in her shop. It could be a couple years old already. :? |
Love all your purses!!!! the colors, great!

Hi, I love your bags! I've never made a bag and wondered how much time to make one and is it difficult for someone like me who hasn't sewn one b4? Is is your own pattern or a store pattern?
My daughters got me an expensive Dooney & Burke or whatever it is called 2 Mother's day ago and I don't like it, it is big and stiff. But I can't hurt my girls' feelings, so when I go somewhere with one of them I use it. Other than that I use a smaller soft bag of cloth that I prefer. Your cloth bags look like the type I would enjoy using. sue |
It's not my pattern. It's called the Bow Tucks bag and you can order it on line at quiltsillustrated.com.
It does take a bit of time to make. They're not a quick thing. I've made lots of them and it still takes me the better part of the day making one. But then I kind of putter around. They do need quilting and that takes the most time. And if you were to free hand stiple that, count on a an hour or more of quilting. It's not hard, but there is a lot to do on them. You could make them. |
Cordelia, these are VERY nice. Happy sewing!
