Quilter's Cache offers some nice border ideas

Wow! Nice, serene, and looks very square and right for a first quilt. Not at all wonky and ripply. Good for you. Would a print border fit your vision? Or an appliqué border? Honestly, if you quilted & bound it as is, it would be super and an above average first quilt, for sure. Post a pic or two when it's done, eh?

are you asking about (quilting designs)? or about adding additional borders, design features? i thought at first you were ready to quilt it, but then read responses and am confused (aweful early in the morning)
anyway, if it is quilting designs... when the quilt top is very geometric (straight lines-squares) curvy designs work very well to set them off.

It looks fine the way it is. If you wanted to add another border use the material that was used in the quilt, like the blue/black/dark purple, the dark pink or even the light pink or purple. Can't tell what the colors are exactly.

I have instructions on my blog...along with doing the binding.

I agree with SueDor. I would just add one of the colors used. But i think it looks really good the way it is. Nice job!

Nice!!! Colors are soothing....

Hi
I think the way it looks right now is good.
Your sashing actually looks like a border.

Thanks Patrice, That is a very cool resourse for Borders. I am always looking for new ideas.

I would leave it as it is and bind it in the sashing fabric.

Beautiful contemporary quilt using a traditional block. LOVE IT!

Great job! It's wonderful just as it is!

If it were me, I would either leave it as is since it is really pretty and probably doesn't need a border - orrrrrr... I'd make a row of white fabric then a row of the white squares alternating with a square of the center colors you uses then a row of white if that makes any sense.

I think it's pretty though and probably doesn't need a border unless you really really think it is missing something.

I like it just the way it is. Unless you need another border to make it larger, I'd finish it off where it is. Beautiful work.

I agree with these 2. I would quilt it and let the sashing be the binding.
