I saw this block on a site, but did not see any instructions for it. It was called "Forget Me Not". Does anyone know how to make it?

bearpaw 06-22-2009 04:58 PM

Very nice block. I did a search and I couldn't find the block or instructions. Maybe someone else will have better luck or someone with the EQ program can help. Good luck!

This is as close as I could find:

It shouldn't be that hard to draft it up for yourself.

Right now I am attempting to make a drawing using graph paper. Wish me luck.

I just did one in EQ, it's very easy to draw. Just start with your standard nine patch, and work from there.

:-)

Doh! Sorry, forgot pdf files won't show. Try this instead...

Yikes! And sorry about the size, not sure how I managed that! I'll crawl back under my rock now! pmsl ;-)

Boston1954 06-22-2009 05:15 PM

Don't you dare crawl under a rock!!! I LOVE IT!! I just saved the picture. It is beautiful. Thank you so much.

Have you done any lone star quilts?

are you willing to do y-seams?

bearisgray 06-22-2009 05:18 PM

didn't see blue chicken's block - way easier than the way I was thinking!

Boston1954 06-22-2009 05:23 PM

Bearisgray.......I have not done Y seams, but I believe I have found a way to do this in triangles.

bearisgray 06-22-2009 05:27 PM

BlueChicken's block is cool.

WAY easier than what I had in mind.

Thank you BC.

BlueChicken 06-22-2009 05:35 PM

Once you see it with the lines around each piece, all the magic disappears! :-) Using eq has taught me to break each block down into segments or workable pieces. It's amazing how easy some can be to draw.

As for the lone star... I started one the other night, pittsburghpam's "no diamond" version. It's looking stunning, if I do say so myself! lol

let's see it

Yippee and way to go!

Looks like a great block. Try using half square triangles for the pointy bits and squares and rectangles for the other bits. I am sure you will do a great job of it!

has the same lilies. I think if you use their method, you can piece it without using templates.

EQ stands for Electric Quilt and is a computer design program for creating blocks and quilts.

My first thought was Y seams too, but I see it can be constructed without them. It is a lovely block!
