I just finished this Stars all around pattern and it needs to be 20 inches bigger. Any ideas on what kind of borders that might look good? I shot this picture outside and the wind was blowing really hard so it's not the best picture.

How about diamonds on the slant, you could use triangles...then another wide border...

I could see another 5" border all around, with some flying geese or LeMoyne Star accents wrapping the corners or even just a patterned fabric border. That center is too gorgeous to draw attention away from!

You could use HST's to make diamonds in the light and the purple colors and insert the blues at intervals. Whatever you chose, let us see the finished product. The top is beautiful!! Great job!

Flying geese in the same colors would be pretty .... GOOD JOB on this so far!!!!!

don't know how, but I would extend the star points out into the borders.

I wouldn't add any more design elements.. I'd just put another 5" border, mitered corners out of the darkest color in the design.

Think all of the suggestions are good ones. The only thing I have to say it that it's gorgeous.

Thank you all for your nice comments and suggestions, I am trying to decide which way to go, plain, diamonds, or flying geese. I want to send this out but I will probably have to quilt it myself. It will take me longer to quilt it than it took me to piece it. Anyway, thanks for all you taking the time to give me your advice.

It is so beautiful, it is hard to imagine adding to it. But I do like the idea of the diamonds.

I'm now pretty good at inset seams, I'm glad that part's over with. I'm still undecided at what I'll do but I'll let the quilt talk to me, right now, it's being mum, hee hee
