Ha! Actually, Hot Rod normally is right there, in the back half of my chair as I sew. He is a true quilt inspector, being involved every step of the way. Sometimes he takes 3/4 of the chair. I don't mind. :)

Dina this is beautiful. Love the colors. Is it hard to do? To me it looks like quite the challenge.

No, it isn't hard to do. It does take some studying of the instructions, but once I understood those, well, I was hooked. If you are interested, you might start like I did. I bought Eileen Wright's first book, Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts. There are ten patterns in the book, and at the back is a Bargello placemat. The author has step by step totally understandable instructions for the beginner right there. Once I made that placemat, I was ready to made the Surf Song, which was the pattern I bought the book for.

Try it. It may be something you enjoy. I sure do. :)

nice colour combo.....

It's beautiful. And that cat in the chair---it's just so interesting to me how cats love their sewing rooms. I have a stray who's came up and now he loves being invited in to quilt.

The colors are beautiful! Can't wait to see it when it's finished. I admire anyone who does a Bargello. I started one a few years ago and it became tedious and not something I was enjoying. Maybe one day I'll bring it back out and try again.

What a great start. Your quilt is going to be gorgeous!!! Can't wait to see it when it's completed. PS - I love purple too.

sash 11-25-2014 10:37 AM

That is going to be just stunning. Can't wait to see it finished.

fatsewcat 11-25-2014 10:44 AM

Very Pretty. Be looking forward to seeing it finished.
Bargello is on my "To-Do" list. One of theses days.

You're trusting your own instincts and have the start of yet another knock-out! Your bargellos have been stunning mostly due to your exquisite fabric choices and eye for color. this one is no exception!!

Wow, thank you so much. You make me feel like I may know what I am doing...:). Fabric selection is not easy for me, but I think I am getting better at it.

My sister is the Purple nut of our family, but I must admit this one has me charmed too - a beautiful project - can't wait to see the finished masterpiece.

jeanne49 11-26-2014 08:45 AM

You did really good on picking your fabrics - great how the colors blend so well. I still don't have the nerve to attempt a Bargello.

MargeD 11-26-2014 12:17 PM

WOW, it is going to be beautiful, as you have a good mix of purples in various shades. Apparently though, your little furry friend can't be bothered, although he/she is beautiful, reminds me of one of our first cats.

joyce888 11-26-2014 12:21 PM

It's going to be gorgeous!

Yup, you are right. Hot Rod, my quilt inspector, isn't really interested in my quilts until I have laid one on the floor to take its picture. THEN he has to be right in the middle of it. :)

It's very pretty but I love the chubby, sleeping cat. Adorable.

Now that you have started on it and you're listening to your inner self, you will probably finish it in record time. It looks like it is really going to be pretty.

#1piecemaker 11-28-2014 06:17 AM
