I am so lucky! I love my job!
I work for an engineering company and we moved to new offices on Friday. My boss decided he did not want his large drafting table anymore since everything is done in AutoCADD now. This table has two huge drawers and 2/3 of the top elevates! I can cut my fabrics without leaning over a flat table and getting an aching neck! Also, the table top has guide wires and a sliding ruler at the bottom that can move up and down to cut along like my acrylic rulers. My large cutting mat doesn't even cover it! He also gave me a bar height chair with it, and my sewing machine can sit on the 1/3 of the table that stays flat. Woo Hoo! |
How lucky you are. Looks great!!!

Great table. How cool to be able to score that one!!!

That's freaking awesome! Now all you need is to attach a light over the side, and you're set!
I wish I could score something that awesome!   |

So pleased for you, it will make a big difference to you. I have worked at one of these desks before when I worked at a drawing office, a lovely piece of kit. Love your quilt hanging on the wall too Tisha. |
Very COOL 8) 8) 8)

What a wonderful thing to have. Now all us quilters will be on the look out for one. Love your quilt too.
how cool is that :!:
Thanks everyone! I am so pleased! I looked up a table like this on Ebay and starting bid was almost $800!!!
The quilt on my design wall is Flower Garden from the Fons and Porter's Fall 2008 magazine I just got. Great way to use up fat quarters and also I get a Christmas quilt out of it for me. What's on the design wall is only half of it. It finishes at 86" square. |
What a great idea. That looks really handy and a place for your templates too. Such a deal.
Very nice table and really nice you have room for it.
Way cool! You definitely scored!
WOW Lucky you!

Wendy, you lucky duck!!! That looks like an awesome set up

What a great way to recycle the table, and it certainly went to the right person!
That looks like the drafting table I used in college. I had forgotten how huge it was...wish I had one now...wonder what the school did with those, surely they aren't STILL using them! Enjoy yours!
that's awsome! like Christmas, Valentines Day, and birthday all rolled into one!
Wow, looks great. You are so lucky.
I would say you were in the right place ant the right time to receive this. It looks as though you had it made to fit everything you need in sewing. Lucky you
Your karma must be working to have this gem drop into your lap!
that looks cool....... congrats on getting it
I used to love working at a drafting table. Don't forget you can change the tilt a bit if you need to. Or even move it flat. :D

What a great table for "drafting" quilts!! I love it!! Great deal!! Lucky girl!! That should work perfect!! :D
Wow, I learned to draw on a table like that! The company went out of business a few years ago- guess they are long gone. I do have a light table that I use for my light box, free from hubby's work- they were going to throw it out.
Need to mention to him the engineering table idea- maybe this place has some. Barb |
Wow...that's great!
Lucky! That will be nice!
How true that one persons junk is anothers treasure.
