What a beautiful quilt and such a nice thank you to your
generous MIL. I bet all of you had a wonderful time in Alaska! |
woo that pretty love it

I love it!
just one question... Did the block construction have Y seams? I'm looking at the picture trying to figure out how you put it together without a Y seam here and there. just curious. Love it love it love it. Rose Hall |
The one block I am assuming you are referring to you sew the rectangle to the square but only do a partial seam. I then sewed the rest of the rectangles around the block and finally finished the partial seam. Is that considered a Y seam? It was easy to do.

I really love the placement of the fabric. What a great guy quilt this is.

It would be a good guy quilt. I decided to give it to my Mother in law after I got it put together and DH asked, what are you going to do with this I thought it would make a great "Thank You" gift for her. She had wanted to take us on an Alaskan Cruise for years and her health has been declining and 2 years ago DH said "we need to do this soon" so she took the 8 of us, MIL and her DH, DH and I, DH's sister, and a cousin (her DH did not want to go) and DH's brother and wife.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments. I still need to sandwich this quilt and try to figure out how I want to quilt it. I am hoping I will have it ready for the party in September. |
