I Spy Bug Jar Quilt for my newest Grandson
 

My middle son and his wife had a baby boy in early September and this is the quilt I made for him. My son loves Calvin and Hobbes and you'll never guess what they named their son...no, not Hobbes, they named him Calvin John (John after his grandfather--my wonderful husband). I really wanted to make him a Calvin and Hobbes quilt, but that wasn't going to happen, so I made him a bug jar quilt and put tiger fabric on the back. I left three blocks without jars on them so I could do a little FMQ in those areas. I think it turned out pretty good. I did add a little tribute to Calvin and Hobbes on the bottom of the quilt, you can see it in one of the pictures. This is a cute quilt. I am currently gathering bug prints to make one for my grandson. Your quiulting in the empty spaces is great and fun.

She's Himalayan--very hairy, but has the most beautiful blue eyes. We love her, just wish she didn't leave so much hair all over!

Love your I-spy bug quilt! Fabulous fun FMQ! So where did you get your bug-jar pattern? I like the size you used.

I watched a MSQC you-tube video. They used 10" squares cut in half for larger jars, I used 5" squares to make smaller jars. It was a fun quilt and went together pretty quickly.
