I spy a mistake

I was getting ready to add my border when I spied this reversed block right in the corner. I am so glad I noticed it now and not later after quilting.

Good catch! I hate it when I do that.
Cool pattern, I like it with the reversed block.
oops......I did that once and didn't see it until after it was quilted. I sure felt dumb. Glad you were on your toes.
It is in an easy place to fix at least. I had one on my current project that was in the middle. I too spotted it before quilting but it was a royal pain to fix. But if I hadn't fixed it, it would have drove me crazy.
whenever I do that, it always seems to be in the middle of the quilt.
Glad you caught it now!
Nice quilt and how lucky you are to find the error before quilting is done. Looks like it will be an easy fix.
Actually, I like the mistake:) it adds a fun twist and personality. It is a lovely quilt top too!
glad you found it before it was quilted!!!pretty quilt!!!
I spy a fantastic quilt!
Call it a "humility block". Long ago quiltmakers would do this purposely to honor God because only he can make something perfect! Even though I'm not the religious type, I'm sure I've got my pass into heaven sealed tight!
Sometimes they show up in a photo. Although I have a couple of quilts (already quilted) that I didn't notice the mistakes despite checking and double checking. Guess it will just give it a unique character. LOL
Wow! Good for you!
Whew...glad you noticed it too. Cool pattern.
Oh, yes, easy fix. And me, I could not stand it not to be fixed, lol. I would change it.
It really is a pretty quilt, love the scrappy color scheme! |
I am doing one of those too and it is easy to do. So glad you spotted it.
Good for you! That would have been easy to miss. I check my rows with a phone photo before sewing them together. Saves a lot of time ripping when I make mistakes. (Which is often.)
It's a design signature!
Mistake in your quilt.
I was getting ready to add my border when I spied this reversed block
The American Indians always put a mistake in their rugs and weaving's, it was good luck.... right in the corner. I am so glad I noticed it now and not later after quilting.
Great save nice quilt.
I know you're glad that this was caught before quilting.
Thankfully you caught it before it was completely quilted.
Before I go blind and cross eyed would someone please point out the error to me? I cannot for the life of me see it.
Thanks. |

The corner block needed to be turned so the light fabrics make a continuous row down the quilt. Here is a bigger picture of it fixed ( my scissors are on the block that was wrong). It would have been very noticeable.

Good for you. I hate doing that.
Pretty quilt. I am glad you saw and can quite easily correct it. I know that if it were mine I would be greatly displeased if the error showed up after it is finished. I would not 'rest' until it was fixed. But that is just the OCD in my character.
Congratulations on catching the mistake. Looks like it's going to be a lovely quilt. BrendaK
Glad you noticed it before you started quilting it. I really hate ripping out stitches.
It looks 3-D
I found two reversed blocks in a log cabin quilt as I was putting the binding on!
Thanks for showing me what the conversation is all about. Perhaps I should be gifted quilts instead of making them?
Again, thanks. A |
Good save! Sometimes no one else would even know but you.... glad you caught it.. it's one of those things you would think about in your dreams!
I had to look twice to see it. LOL.
I agree with NZquilter, for the personality factor. Mistakes can be blessings in disguise. I like that quick, easy pattern, too.

Glad you caught it. I usually spot the mistake seconds before I am suppose to give it away.
