OK, I got sidetracked from my Wee Play 9-patch yesterday afternoon when I saw this tumbler quilt tutorial:http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/09/...aby-quilt.html

So I HAD to start one. I mean I HAD the same fabric!
Here's what I got done so far.

The close up. Not perfect, but I'm happy with it.

What a sweet looking top. It looks like it was fun to put together. Your inspector looks very regal, too.

I love the inspector, hard at work. Great looking start!

I love it and want to do a scrappy tumbler. Are you planning what block goes where or just using whatever you happen to pick up?
I want to put everything in a bag and just grab but don't know if I can do that since I'm so matchy-matchy.

I just bought these templates also...thought I`d make a scrappy quilt first to try them out...yours are looking very pretty... :-)

No planning, just grabbing whatever. If I happen to grab something too similar, I do switch it for another tumbler.
This is my first, and this is a REALLY QUICK & EASY ONE!

Thanks. It's Moda's "Sweet" by Urban Chiks. It's some charm packs I had bought a few months ago. I really like it. So does my 6 year old DD. She'll probably get this one. :)

I love the tumbler pattern, and the fabric you have for doing it is great. This is going to make a beautiful quilt.

I love your top - it's going to be so fresh & crisp too with those colours.

LOL I love your inspector too - she looks right at home there. What is it with cats & quilts.
Here is a picture of my "Oscar" I found him upstairs relaxing the other afternoon. :P
It's as if he's looking at me & saying - "Yes, how can I help you" LOL

I love all those Moda Bake Shop projects! And with their pre-cut fabrics, every single one of them looks fantastic! Yours is beautiful!

SharonC 09-11-2009 06:45 AM

Very nice...the fabric you are using really suit the block and make for a very pretty quilt.

Beverly,
This one is very easy. It's my first and I'm about half way finished the top this morning. However, I ran short of fabric, so I had to order more this morning.
