Poor William...he just doesn't get this thing I have about sewing machines! He just bought me my Janome in October...and can't understand "why on God's green earth" I would want an old treadle machine! (He also doesn't understand why I want the other 5 machines that live with me)
But today? This man who simply doesn't understand why bought me the treadle machine that I've been wanting! :D It's a Singer...serial number 3164162...which from what I understand from this website http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland....ore/page7.html means it was made in 1879! (Thanks dvseals for the correction!! :) ) It's in great shape...sews like it's brand new...the cabinet is even in very good shape! I was so excited that I nearly had to have Depends! ~happy lil sigh~ |
That is just stunning! What a fabulous fantastic amazing and wonderful William you have there!

Beautiful :)
I think he might indeed love you ;) According to Singer's website it was born in 1879. here's the link http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_noletter.html |
Thanks dvseals! I guess it would help if I looked at the right column on the site I posted! The date is AFTER the number, not before...and it matches with what you posted!
I'm thinking I want to piece my DJ on this machine! |
WOW! What a beauty you have there! And a great man also! Lucky woman you are. This is really a gorgeous machine. And in such wonderful shape for her age! Thank You for sharing. Enjoy!
