I found the perfect fabric , then a pattern ( Thank you for all the help everyone). I had never attempted curves before :-o but I think I can live with this. It lays flat and no ripples or puckering.
It is not perfect, But it is mine. This quilt is going to be that much more special to me because I am using the featherweight my grandfather gave me ( It was his mom's) to piece it all together. The Blocks will alternate colors.. I am so excited that this worked out .

:-D

It's very pretty. I know you'll feel so special using your great grandmother's machine. Now that's a special machine!

I have had the featherweight for about 15 years and until being on this board I never used it but after reading about everyone using theirs I am so glad I decided to .. It sews great!

I'm encouraged that you find the curves doable and even easy. I am a curve-o-phobe. Guess I need to tackle that.
Congrats, I'm glad it's going so well.

YEAH Happy dancing for you!! Great job on the curves I cannot wait to see the quilt!

Dmart- I didn't even KNOW what a featherweight was until I joined the board. I got one and it sews like a dream!! :D

I love your block, it makes it even more special knowing what machine you are piecing these with :D:D:D

Very nice! I can't wait to see it done! How lucky you are to have a featherweight that was in your family. I remember my grandmother having a treadle machine, but no one remembers where it went when she died. I was about 10 years old at the time and had no interest in sewing.

Awesome job! I'm sure your quilt will be beautiful once you get all the color blocks together. :)

I sew on my Mother's old machine and feel she is right there with me (in Angel form) encouraging me to keep going or "rip out !"

It's beautiful......but if you change your mind and decide that you CAN'T live with it, just send it along to me!!!

I am also a Curve-o-phobe & just cannot bring myself to try them. Yours looks fabulous & I just love your fabric choices. You're doing a great job! And I also need to do a first project on my Featherweight. Sew little time and am trying to get these UFO's out of my way. The first of the year is going to be dedicated to doing fun things I WANT to do. :D
