I went to W*M for pictures yesterday...

This is what I came home with...I don't have a plan for any of it, but I got it all for $5, how could I possibly pass these pretty FQ's up?? I know I'm going to use the aliens and some of the blues for a quilt for DS...but I don't have a pattern - any ideas? Lets not mention that I'm in the middle of one right now, and still have to buy fabric for a gift quilt that I have to do before I touch the aliens...

I started my first quilt late August, this year...now I've got three more going on in various stages! I AM HOOKED!

Oh and here's another of DD working on her quilt...it's a real collaborative effort. She sews some, I sew some, she uses the foot pedal while I sew, I use the foot pedal while she sews, she irons some, I iron some. The only thing she hasn't had her hand in is cutting, I've done all of that.

Cheap FQ's!

Love the look of intense concentration on the face of your little quilter!

Nice fabrics too...

How cute is she! I love your fabric. That will be a pretty quilt for your son. Lots of us do exactly what you did, buying fabric for a new one when we haven't finished the two or three we are working on. Just keep plugging!

You have become a collector just like the rest of us. We don't have a problem, we have a passion. Now if I could convince DH of that. Love your sewing buddy, she is cute.

Looks like someone is almost ready for her own machine.. I saw a darling small machine at WalMart yesterday for around $60, best of all it is a wonderful portable.. I'm just waiting to see reviews of it as it will be an amazing "take along" machine.

I have those same alien fabrics. I have them in a quilt I am finishing for my DS too. They are so cute!

How adorable, the fabric is nice too!

How about attic windows? Make it look like your viewing an invasion! If you don't like "Y" seams, about.com has a pattern where you use half square triangles instead of the "Y" seams.

What a cutie! She is so concentrated on her sewing! You two are going to create some beautiful things together!

RedGarnet222 09-22-2010 08:47 AM

Oh yes it looks like you both have caught the quilting bug! She is adorable and you are setting her in the right direction teaching her so young.
Oh and your five dollar find? Awesome!

roseOfsharon 09-22-2010 08:48 AM

Such a sweet little quilter she is! I know she will find something to do with the fabric!!

Your daughter looks like she is the same age as my granddaughter. Trinity just turned 5 and she is a very smart little girl, comes from being the youngest of 3 children. The others are 151/2 and 12 years, she is will adult like people all the time. T will have to see if Trinity wants to learn to sew. I will see on the weekend.

Yes, DD will be 5 in a little over a month :) She enjoys learning how to sew, but she does get impatient at times because it's not a quick and easy process! lol I should have started her on a quicker project - this one will be lap quilt sized for her, maybe try a doll quilt, goes together more quickly so she can be proud of her accomplishment sooner! lol
