Ruthie,

I will be years before I would do one of those my self. I need to learn to much. It is a pretty dream....bet you could do it.

Boo 01-14-2007 02:22 AM

Ruthie, I also printed out that pattern maybe 6 years ago! I still love the look of it, but actually forgot about it. I am so glad to have the reminder, since I don't have enough wanna makes to keep me going forever! At this rate my life expentancy will put me at about 352 years.

DonnaRae 01-18-2007 03:07 PM

Hi Ruhie, That same pattern is on my list of projects to do. There is also a pattern on my list at http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ss/cat_quilt.htm
called Catching the View, that I thought you might be interested in. I have not started either yet. Trying to finish all my UFO's am on my last two. Boy it feels good! Have Fun.

Knot Sew 01-19-2007 01:23 PM

I've been looking at that one. I downloaded the templates, I have a collection, maybe Ill put them onto something' There is a lady I read about on the net who puts a cat in the corner of every quilt.

DonnaRae 01-19-2007 02:02 PM

Wow, now that is an idea for a signature. Guess it is already taken. I was at a site today that has a bunch of free motifs. You could actually use some for stiching. One is with a cute cat. I was thinking maybe, but too cutsie for me. But there are alot of neat motifs which gave me ideas.

susan s. 03-30-2007 02:35 PM

Most definately. I ike that one too I think I have a picture of that in my file somewhere. I can't remember where I downloaded it from But most likely it was the same site! McCalls ? I THINK I
've been there. :?:

Celeste 03-30-2007 05:22 PM

ME TOO!

My (twin) sis loves black cats w gold eyes, and our Abernathy has won over my heart, though the dear thing prefers to hang out in the blocked offkitchen away from the dobermans and standard poodle.

One of my nephews recently got himself one, too.

susan s. 03-31-2007 07:11 AM

Donnarae; I just downloaded thet one last night  I check out Janet's site from time to time too. I receive her newsletter!!!!!!!!

quiltmaker101 04-11-2007 11:26 AM

If you want cats in your quilts, you should look for the "Cat's Meow" book by Janet Kime. It is all about cats, in the patterns and borders. Really cute!

I have a UFO "Garden Trellis" quilt I need to finish, and the main fabric is lots of little kitties playing in a sewing room.

rvquilter 04-11-2007 02:27 PM

What page. I can't find it and would like to make it?

susan s. 04-11-2007 02:59 PM

Oh how cute. How old is this book? would it be difficult to find?

rvquilter 04-11-2007 07:40 PM

Hey Ruth what is the exact link to the page that it's on? I can't find it on their site.

quiltmaker101 04-12-2007 05:14 AM

You can find it on Amazon.com. Its not old, and everything in the book is about cats. Good luck!

Knot Sew 04-12-2007 05:45 AM

Here is the link to the McCall's pattern from 1997. I looked it up on their website.

Cat's Who Quilt seems to be a story book, from the previews on that other website.

rvquilter 04-12-2007 06:41 AM

All they do there is give you the same link to McCalls. I can not find it on the McCalls site. Does someone have the exact page on the McCalls site where the pattern is? That is what I meant with the last ?

quiltmaker101 04-12-2007 07:46 AM

If you go to the McCall's Quilting home page there is a small search window on the right side. Type in Stairway to Cat Heaven. There will be some odd cat related things that show on the next screen, but if you scroll down, you'll see Stairway to Cat Heaven and when you click on it, you'll get the directions.

susan s. 04-12-2007 08:06 AM

I just checked out that Cats Who Quilt site. It's cute but she doesn't have any free patterns as far as could see. Her link's, I'm afraid, were not very good. Only one actually gave some free patterns and they were not terribly inspiring . The last link didn't even go to any type of quilt site. The choices it offered were completely unrelated to quilting. Sonny Warner became related to suny weather :-o  :?: I didn't try her McCalls link because I had allready downloaded that pattern. Still I like hearing about new sites cause ya never know what ya might find.

rvquilter 04-12-2007 09:41 AM

Got it. Thank you so much. I think I may start on it next.

ledle50073 08-14-2007 07:22 AM

I'm sure I've neglected to do something properly, but I cannot find the directions to make the "cat's stairway to heaven quilt." I also want to make this quilt. I went to McCallsquilting.com but then where from there? Does anyone know the month and year of the magazine issue? Thanks.
Linda

Here it is I can't wait to see someone make this........I'll get to it someday...........I love kitties

Stryka 07-25-2008 08:01 AM

I would like to make this quilt too. We just had to send our 18 year old baby (human years) to heaven do to cancer. My daughter is heartbroken and this quilt would be perfect. Only thing is, the quilt isn't at that address anymore. Can someone who has the pattern send it to me? If not, I'll try to wing it by using the pictures.
Thank you,

http://web.archive.org/web/20070302220618/http://mccallsquilting.com/golden/mg01_pattern/index.html

Alu_Rathbone 01-18-2010 01:08 AM

No, it keeps bringing up ERROR 404 PAGE NOT FOUND. But it does take me to the McCalls Website...

I saw this quilt and fell in love with it! lol.. I really just need the cats... but it might help to have the whole pattern.

Celeste 01-18-2010 01:12 AM

are you clicking on the link? Try copying it all, because I checked it before I put it on here.

Alu_Rathbone 01-18-2010 01:16 AM

i got the same thing after copying it... :( this is so weird then! maybe my web browser doesn't like me!

GypsyRse1 02-27-2010 09:04 AM

I don't have any problem buying the pattern...if I could find it. It is not available on McCalls website and since the pattern is from their magazine in 1997, which month? Someone has to have the pattern. It is perfect for my SIL. Any help appreciated.....

BellaBoo 02-27-2010 09:45 AM

Here is the link I posted when others were looking for this pattern. It seems to work fine.
