Like many of you on the board, I do the Fab Shop hop online. I was shocked to find an email that I had won a 2nd place prize for the February hop.
I waited patiently for the package, and when it arrived I have to tell you that I was REALLY disappointed. They sent me four half yards of the cheapest looking off white fabrics. You could see right through them! I pouted for a few days, and then hubby said I should at least let them know that I was disappointed in what I recieved. So I did.... and they were very nice, and said if I was not satisfied I should send it back and they would send something different. That pleased me, even if I had to pay to send them..... I figured anything would have been better. (Those fabrics were horrible...and after all the time you spend "hopping") I kept thinking that maybe I was being to hard on them, but then I thought... if I was doing a prize giveaway in a regular store, I certainly would have chosen something of better quality. Or if I was donating a prize. So this is what they sent as a replacement......... Now.... what to do with them? I am open to any inspirational suggestions you may have! Congratulations. I love all of those colors. Do you know what you are gonna make yet?

The teapots I think I would make a table runner out of , the sedond one a small lap quilt ?
|
they are beautiful!
I can't wait to see pictures of what you make! |
Pretty fabrics
I won a $10.00 certificate from Some Art Fabric. My order came to approx $9.00 with shipping (ordered a pattern). Some Art Fabric said I had to pay for shipping...I canceled the order    I don't see why I should pay for shipping if the total order was less than $10.00      |
That is so wrong. Easy way to lose business.
|
what have you decided to send it back, they should just send you another package and should be able to keep the old stuff to use for a quilt for charity, you shouldn't be out the postage to send it back.

You know what they say, the squeaky wheel ...etc.

That eclectic garden is gorgeous!

I won a $10.00 gift certificate from Bear Paw and they let me use the $10.00 and a discount for shipping because of the total order which was under $20.00. I wasn't expecting it, but it was offered.

I like the replacement fabrics they sent you. Great looking fabrics! Congratulations on winning!
|
I've won twice on the fabshophop. The prize I won the first time was four 5-yard cuts of neutral fabrics. I was thrilled. They were great for quilt backs and sashings. The second prize was a pattern with free shipping. Your experience must have been the opposite of mine.

Oooo those are all pretty :D:D:D
I like Sharon b's ideas too! |
I think the teapot set would make a really nice apron or maybe a couple. If you don't use aprons, they might make a nice gift for someone.
Congratulations on winning a prize. I've done the Fab Shop Hop a couple of times and did not win anything. |
LInda B,
I do use aprons.... I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! |

My fabrics I won are stiff, scratchy, and no-name pieces. Nothing on the salvage. I posted a photo of them after I received the package. I really expected quilt shop quality; but not what I got either.

Oh, I am glad you sent it back, the new stuff is so pretty!

I am new at this. What is the fab shop hop? Never heard of it.

Go to www.fabshophop.com. You will find a full page of information. Various shops throughout the nation take part in a "game" type search. As you visit the sites, you look for "the bunny". Then you can register for a random drawing. You also get to see various quilting websites and sales. You can sign up for each shop's newsletter and mailings if you wish. I enjoy it and often participate while watching television.

I too have "won" that same package of cream/white fabrics. I was also amazed that in a quilt fabric shop hop the so-called prize was not of quilt shop quality. What a disappointment! I have also won the $10 so-called prize. I ordered one item and even with shipping it came to less than $10. They only credited me with the amount of the item $6 or so if memory serves me, and made me pay the $3.50 to ship it. So basically, I got my item less than half off. Would have done beter to go to JoAnns with my coupon instead. Doesn't even feel like you "won" anything! It's a lot of work, and disapointing. I never emailed them as you did, maybe I should have.

Congrats on getting some nicer fabrics. Love the purples~
