Ideas on age of this antique quilt I got from estate?

I have two identical twin size hand quilted (8-9 stitches per inch) quilts that I got from an estate. The executor had no idea about their origin. She said she had always been told they were "over 100 years old." I showed a picture to someone at a quilt show and they believed perhaps dated in the 1930s or 1940s. There is so much knowledge on this board, I thought I'd ask what you think? The fabric has a very fine hand and the quilts themselves have held up well.

I would say 1930's. Solid green and pink were very popular then, as were appliqued tulips. I would even venture to guess that the blocks were marketed by the Wonder Art label by Fixler Brothers of Chicago. They sold precut fabric shapes for one block at a time in a packet including the background fabric for 10 cents.

Your quilts are gorgeous and are in great condition! Lucky you.

I'm no expert by any means, but that looks like Bubble Gum Pink that was popular in the 30's/40's. Whatever the date, it's a beautiful quilt.

The Nebraska Quilt Museum might help. I have a quilt my Grandmother pieced in 1935 and the green in yours matches it exactly. In addition, the patterns have this in common: 3 stems/flowers coming from a triangular pot. Mine has gold and purple and the flowers are hexagons, all one color. The layout is different but the squares are on the diagonal/bias, mine with no pattern are a square of muslin rather than your pink.

Take it to a quilt appraiser. They are trained in dating fabrics. Also you can have it appraised for insurance purposes.
