I'm not the maker but isn't this a variation of the Morning Star?
The sashing is same width as the squares. Very nice.

It's a great pattern and very adaptable to many variations.

I too think it is a nine patch but the points for the geese what size would you make the squares to make the points

It looks like a charm pack, which is 5 inch squares. Add white 5 inch squares for the star centers, and then sew 2 1/2 inch squares on two sides of adjacent squares, right sides together. Sew with a diagonal seam. Fold back the white square & trim the back.

This is actually mine. I just used charm packs and sewed 2 3/4inches squares on the corners. If you use 2 1/2 squares the points match up. If you zoom in you'll see that my first star blocks are off at the points. There wasn't a pattern. I seen a charm pack quilt on the board that kwhite did and just copied.

It looks similar to a table runner I made with a pattern called LITTLE CHARMERS 2. I hope this helps!

That pattern is called Hidden Stars and is in the book Layer Cake, Jelly Roll, and Charm Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott.
