This is beautiful. I would have had to take out velvets also. However, I did see a quilt yesterday that had strips of velvet intertwined with other deep colors. It was beautiful and that little strip of velvet added such depth and cozy feel.

I have a question that I hadn't thought to ask earlier... the "v" of the heart is actually a prairie point. Instructions did not tell me to sew it down, but should I? Never did prairie points before.
