So I know that some people are tired of the snow, but I was very thankful yesterday for a last minute snowfall. It gave me the chance to try out snow dyeing again. I had tried it a couple of weeks ago, and was not happy with the results, and was hoping to get another chance at it! I had read some of the blogs that were linked here before, and I didn't have time to order dyes from Dharma Trading, so I went to WallyWorld and Meijer and checked out their selection of RIT dyes and used those instead. I know these aren't the greatest pictures, it's still kind of gray and drab here, was hoping for some sunshine so you could see the colors better. :)
This was with fuschia, royal blue and a little bit of navy This was with royal blue and navy |
Very pretty and it sounds like fun too :D:D:D

WOW how neat is that.

Looks like it came out pretty good. I had never heard of that until a post on here a few weeks ago. Our snow was gone or dirty by then!
Just found out about this and is going to be on my list of things to do next winter! Not wanting to play with snow anymore this year though. LOL So I have something to look forward to!
Turned out great. Can't wait to see how you use them.
One more reason to love winter! Fabulous idea! I hope I remember this next winter. No snow here in Kzoo, should have gone to our cottage in Houghton Lake!
Those are really pretty fabrics!!! I never heard of that before :D:D
What is snow dying?
interesting...will have to do a search to check it out...
altho we dont get much snow at any one given time...usually melts by next snowfall...and doesnt amount to much when it does snow (sorry if im rubbing it in lol) |
Very pretty, and this is the first time I heard of snow dyeing. Interesting.
Beautiful fabrics. I'm going to have to try that come Winter.
if you love snow dyeing then try shaving cream dyeing. It is so much fun and you don't have to put up with snow. :)
Those turned out really beautiful!! I'll have to give it a try next year! ;)
It turned out great!!!! I've never tried snow dyeing. I think I might have to try that.
Wonderful results. I'd like to try that sometime, but we get very little snow here.
Beautiful ! Wonder if it would work with crushed ice?
nice !
I have never heard of snow dyeing. What is it and how does it work? I am very interested in trying this method out.

Looks like you could move to a place with snow 9 months of the year and create your own Batiks. Lovely.
Love the colors and dye results of the first 3 photos best but they are all wonderful! You saved lots of money by not having to order online. I can see why you'd like to 'play' with snow some more, LOL
You are fortunate to be able to try snow dyeing .. something positive about having lots of that white cold stuff around. I would love to try it but don't get much snow here in the high desert of CA. |
Love the results . have never heard of snow dyeing.
Will be looking into that........ thanks for sharing. |
