I'm Thinking Pink
2 Attachment(s)
I intended on painting my computer room a soft coral but the paint came out much pinker than planned, well, that's okay, I'm in a pink mood these days anyways. I planned to make a throw for the chair and saw this floral fabric on clearance at Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago, grabbed some and then got some flannels and made this chair cuddler. It has flannel as the batting as well as the backing, just in case Spring needs a little help in the warmth department. I chose the mostly-blue print for the back in case I fall out of love with pink (a little does go a long way, I've found), I just quilted a few wavy lines down it to hold everything together and bound it with light orange. While I was at it, I went through my stash and found like-color scraps and made the quilted pillow cover.

Looks so comfy! Like both sides, too. Way to go!

looks very nice!!!

That focus fabric is to die for!

nice and very pretty colors, spring? ha summer is already here. 20 degrees higher than normal today broke a record at 91! just a bit too soon!! still I wouldn't move anywhere else, so I'm not complaining just saying.

Pretty in pink!

Lovely quilt! love the fabrics
Pink is good & so is orange (I love orange). Love how everything turned out.
They look great together! Now, if the pink walls get to be too much, just hang some different colored quilts on them.
I remember as a young girl when the paint for our room came out too lavender and we had to choose different curtains and bedspreads than we had planned. |
That's a great reversible quilt. Very nice job!

It certainly looks comfy.

Quilt and pillow are very nicely done. I like your paint on the wall.
Really pretty! Both sides!
I Love your retro fabric you found to make your cozy up quilt. How sweet, it reminds me of the sixties fabrics we used to wear. Peace! LOL...
Two for the price of one....got to be happy with that.
Both sides are lovely. The pink and orange remind me of the uniforms the PSA stewardesses used to wear, back in the 70's. Bright and cheerful. Putting blue on the back was a great idea, gives the quilt a whole different look.

Lovely quilt, and love the pink!
they are a nice compliment to your room...
That is so pretty
Great quilt - love the use of both fabrics.
I had a room that came out too purple once. I watered down white paint and did a wash over it. I really liked the way it turned out. I did try it out first by painting a poster board with the purple and when it dried, doing the wash on it. It took several tries before I had the right mix of paint and water that I wanted. |
Made me laugh as I recalled a time we purchased some orange paint thinking we could add white and made a coral color, we had an orange bedroom for years. I decorated by making black with coral curtains. Glad there are others like me.

You did a great job. I love the colors!!!
Your quilt and pillow are adorable, love pink and orange together!
Very nice and snuggly.
Nice combo of the pink with orange. Really makes it pop!
Very pretty. I love pink and most all other colors.
Thanks for all of the kind words everyone - I have thought about doing a color wash over the walls once I'm good and tired of too much pink...it may not be long. lol But I'll try to enjoy it while it's here. :)
Looks great and very nice to cuddle under. Love the way you used a blue print on the backing, your fabrics are lovely.
That corner of your computer room looks so cozy and inviting. Lovely colors.
Makes you feel all cozy. I love the design/pattern of the blue - in just about any colorway.

Continuing on with my pink, orange and blue madness, I made this log cabinish table topper from scraps for the small table next to the reading chair, pretty soon I have to decide what to put on the walls (the crazy isn't over yet lol):
