I have an antique quilt top of the same pattern. I would like to hand quilt it but I was not sure what to use for a quilting design. I like what you did with it. Thanks for sharing.

solstice3 02-29-2012 07:57 AM

Interesting concept. I like it.

peacequiltingnana 02-29-2012 08:14 AM

Just beautiful. What patience you must have.

arbed31 02-29-2012 08:55 AM

Very beautiful and the hand quilting is excellent. I am hand piecing some hexagons and will be hand quilting it when I am finished piecing them.

I purchased the precuts from Joanns because they were pretty and I wanted something to do that would be portable. Unfortunately, the cuts are not very precise. Beware!

I am going to purchase an Accuquilt Go! Hexagon die to cut my own.

Diane on Summit 02-29-2012 10:32 AM

What a beautiful job! The 'secondary pattern' of the circles really is enhanced by your lovely quilting.

southernmema 02-29-2012 10:34 AM

QuiltnLady1 02-29-2012 12:14 PM

You did a beautiful job!! Your had quilting is amazing.

I have a quilt made for me by my grandma in 1954 that is that pattern -- it was made from scraps of the clothes she made me. I love the quilt, but grandma did not like the hand quilting as much as the piecing so she just barely quilted it and I have to be careful to keep the batting from shifting.

quiltingcurious 02-29-2012 12:53 PM

Do your fingers still work? Wow! The texture is gorgeous, your stitches are so uniform, wonderful job and keepsake quilt.
