She came into my life on December 3 (won on a Goodwill auction). On December 4, we went to the local sewing store and got her a power cord / foot pedal. I did the happy dance so much when we plugged her in, her light came on, and she hums happily when her foot pedal is pushed.
I know people name their featherweights, and it only took a moment to know this pretty lady's name is Della - after my Great-Grandmother. I do believe she is the one I inherited my craftiness from. :-D Thanks for looking. |
Welcome to the family, Della...I hope you purr when you sew! I think that is the sound that my 221 makes...I haven't named her yet, still thinking...
|
I'd say Christmas came early this year, lucky you! Enjoy!

Congratulations, I'm sure she is happy to be sewing again.

Congratulations on your new featherweight.
I hope you love using her as much as I do mine. |
Congradulations on your new member of the family. Not knowing what exactly I had, I was given a featherweight when I was in my early twenties. It belonged to my great aunt although she wasn't a professional...she was a seamstress. The machine came with several parts and I'm not sure how to use them all and unfortunately the machine and parts are in storage. The last time that I used the machine I discovered that I needed a new belt for it. My mom found one online for $20. out of California. But does anyone have an idea if there might be one close to the Atlanta area. I haven't named it yet and I suppose I should...so I suppose the only name to give it would be Geneva...for my Great Aunt.

Della is definitely a cutie. Funny, she looks just like my "Little Miss Featherweight". Guess they are related!!!!
Hope you love her as much as I love Little Miss Featherweight. AKA "Little Missy". |
