i would like you all to meet my aunt elna! she was carefully driven to colorado from utah. a dear friend from high school sent her to me. "elna" came to sandy on accident. she ordered a trainset on ebay for her granddaughter, and received this instead. "elna" is a pretty humble old gal...no power cord, instruction book, bobbin, etc. she was happy that i had some vintage notion to keep her company...

I have an Elna that my Mother bought in 1965.
Still works good and I like many things about it.
What an odd looking design this Elna is! Very Swedish/minimalist?

Elna is so cute. I'm sure she found a good home, full of love. Happy Quilting. :-D

Fun machine, but where is the train set (smile). Thank you for sharing. Nice to meet you Aunt Elna.

What a lovely machine. She's a work of art.

This does make me wonder if someone out there is sitting and looking at a train set and asking where her sewing machine is.

I was thinking the same thing!! Where's my machine?? LOL!!

It is a lovely machine.

my friend said the woman was EXTREMELY apologetic; returned her money and told her to keep the machine. i am by NO means a vintage sewing machine expert, but i'm pretty sure this machine is best suited to just grace my sewing room as a conversation piece. however, i'm sure "she" has a treasure trove of stories......
