Here is the top of my Irish Chain variation ... once I get my embroidery software (I deleted it from my computer LOL) I will be doing some embroidery on the white blocks and then some FMQ on the rest of the quilt

Looks like that quilt be ready just in time for spring. It's so pretty with the blues & yellows.

Such beautiful fabrics and that is going to be gorgeous with the embroidery work in the solid blocks. Love the little 9 patch blocks. How big are your 9 patches? I have tons of yellow and blue fabrics and your quilt gave me some other options on how to use my fabrics up.

Very pretty. An unusual setting but so interesting.

That’s beautiful x

MarionsQuilts 01-16-2019 06:41 AM

The finished square size is 7.5 x 7.5 For the square with the 5 nine patches - each square is 1.5 x 1.5 prior to sewing ... so finished square comes out to 7.5 x 7.5

How pretty this is going to be when it gets embroidered. Be sure to post the finished product. Deleted the software by mistake or by choice? How apropro for me. I thought I was the only one that did things like that. A drats moment.

It's funny you say that, I've wanted to upgrade but have always put it off because they are so expensive. But when I was cleaning up my computer, the only program I totally deleted was my 4D organizer LOL

I ended up buying embrilliance, and from what I've been able to do with it in the last day and half is perfect - and not super expensive at all!

I ended up adding a row on the end so that it balanced more. In the middle I have four embroidered blocks.

I just got Judi Madsen's books (yeah!) in the mail, so I will be perusing those to do some "secondary quilting" in the white spaces. I have a general idea what I want to do, so the marking will take a while!

Regarding layout ... does anyone have any suggestions? I just put them up there, but if someone has a nice critical eye ... please feel free to post about a layout suggestion
