In trying to condense my work area, DH came up with this idea. It may not work for everyone but I love it-and there is chocolate in my room 24/7!
Can't gain weight with that kind of chocolate! LOL!
Is that the ironing part? Looks like a great idea! |
great idea, thanks for sharing with us
Oh that is cool.
I use my dining room table because it's where I quilt. In fact my machine and two quilts have been set up for over 2 months. We now eat in front of the tv and no one is complaining. Wish I had a BIGGER HOUSE. Lord hear my prayers. |
That's nice! Is the ironing surface attached to the table? Is there any heat transfer through the board? I would be afraid that the heat would warp my cutting surface over time or is the cutting board removable? May I copy your idea?
Good Idea !
VIRTUALBERNIE - looks like the ironing board is a separate BOARD which should not get to the cutting surface. Plywood (or whatever she has) looks pretty thick. |

Copy away! Yes, the candy bars are the ironing surface. The cutting mat is not attatched. The cutting area is 1/2" thick and I've had no problems with it. I put down heavy duty foil, cotton batting and cotton fabric. Made sure to attach the ironing surface with four small hinges so the mat wouldn't slide through. I did put contact paper on the table top just so it would look nicer-an idea from sis Dingle. The rest is just painted 2 x 4's. I love it! |
Great ideas and I bet the table is at a comfortable height for you to work! The ironing board fabric is so cute :-)
What a great table and so simple to make.
Very nice! Love the fabric.
Hey, I want my chocolate back!
Your husband fixed you up....you can iron and cut on same table. Nice job and know you enjoy it each time to iron

Wish my DH were handy in the woodworking department.

And this is what happens when you keep 99% of your fabric at my house! |
love that-I may need to borrow your idea
Lucky you! I love your set up, and especially the really yummy fabric you chose

Great idea, and I love the fabric. :D

At least you needn't worry about the iron melting your chocolate.LOL

Really great idea!

Terrific, workable idea for small spaces :)
Great idea. I also sew in my diningroom and use my buffet for cutting. This way I could take down the ironing board and you wouldn't have to zig and zag to get thru the room.
Neat idea! And great fabric!! :)
I think that is awesome :)
If my craft room were just a tiny bit bigger I might be able to get away with it. As it is, I don't think I could even fit a tv tray in there lol |
No reason you couldn't put some shelves under that ironing table - maybe an outlet on one end and a place to hold scissors on the table leg - use a drawer handle to drop the scissors into. Love the cover.
How nice! But if I used that fabric, I'd be salivating while I ironed! LOL!
that is sweet.love it
that is a great idea! May have to steal it. :-)
