Ironing trick sewing stripes together
5 Attachment(s)
There are about 30+ stripes in a Jelly Roll and to make the sewing together a little bit easier I iron one end of every stripe diagonally: this line is the line to sew on when I put two stripes together! Sorry for my English, I do my best to write exactly what to do.... I post some pictures where you can see what I mean....
And ironed lines are also perfekt for writing on lables: you have a line to write on! |
Oh that is lovely. Thanks for the information. Every little bit helps so many. I used to swap with other Countries around the world. signed blocks. i made many, many quilts with siggy (signature) blocks. I loved them all.

What a brilliant idea for sewing those strips together. I will be using your idea, thank you.

Thank you for that ironing trick. I usually just sew & hope that my sewing is straight. I am going to use your system next time.

Love the hint for ironing lines on your quilt label! Might have to do a handwritten one today so that is very timely. Thank You!

I have been quilting for over 40 years and this is a new technique. So easy! No more twisting, turning, or drawing those lines!!!

That's a great idea.
Your English is very good. Just take the "e" off of "stripes" to make it "strips" and it's perfect! Watson |
Oh, goodness. You are brilliant!. The idea of ironing lines on a quilt label is so simple a technique but we, or at least I, have not thought of it before. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us.
