Mel - the baby pic is so clear, it's amazing! :D

OK I finally figured out the baby, I am just terrible at reading those things...found the ear and arm and then it became clear

Lol, thanks guys!
I'm due at the end of April, so I still have about 3 months to go...although I hope to go a couple of weeks early.
Our baby boy's name will be Alexandre :)

What a strong name for such a handsome little guy Mel! I like it!

Awwwhhh! A boy!! Woo Hoo, I was blessed to be able to have one baby and he was a boy! The biggest blessing I ever had. He was always a joy and an outstanding son!
He is going to be 40 this year and turned out to be a wonderful man, husband and daddy with 3 boys of his own. So now I have 3 more babies, James is 10, Christian is 8 and my littlest one, Austin, is going to be 5 in April.

I am so happy for you!!

Alright, let's try this again.

I went through my own batiks and found that they were too jewel-like, too pink and purple, and this quilt was calling primary colours.
I went to the store and found a beautiful batik for my border, but it ended up looking too pink next to the other reds and nothing else seemed to fit right. I settled for a really cool crackle, and tried the carpenter's square for the corner blocks. It's only crooked in the picture, because I haven't sewn the red borders to it yet, but I went for the same 1/4 inch black that we see in the original center, and used that as my narrow black border and in my corner blocks.
I actually like this one, but I'm wary of making it too busy...

I think it looks good Mel. But k3n, what do you think?

Poor JoeAnn called me on Monday just beside herself because they had almost 12 inches of snow and she couldn't get to the post office to mail Patti's center to me. I had to tell her to calm down, and remind her that the mailing date isn't until the 15th!

And I'm glad because I haven't even started Mel's border yet. I'm working hard this weekend to get my sewing room unpacked so that I can work on it before I have to go back to work next week. I have three different ideas, but haven't settled on one yet.

WOW Mel, I LOVE the way that's looking! I love the black skinny inner border and the corner blocks really bring out the staoned glass! Brilliant girl! And I think the red is just perfect, not too bright, not too muted, it really sets off Patti's triangle border a treat! Magnifique! Merci mille fois! :-D

Hi Gai, howya doin'? Busy settling in I should hope - been thinkin' boutcha girlfriend! (Oh my, I'm turning into an American! )

I really like the look of that border. Love the carpenter's square corner too. I agree with K, it and the black skinny border brings out the stained glass center.
Do it girl!!

Mel, I think it is a perfect solution! YOu GO GIRL!!!!

Gai....tell JoeAnne not to worry. Hope you can get all settled into your sewing room before going back to work. We can't wait to see what you are coming up with for Mel's center and I can't wait to see what JoeAnne did with mine!!!
