I see that it is a Brother, and I already have 2. None of which embroider though. What is the model number on this one? I don't know if I really need a machine that embroiders....
Thanks, Anita |

I have a CI6000 that I dearly love. It is close to your machine without the embroidery stuff. I love how quiet it is, and how good it really sews. It weighs nothing (I'm used to the old Singer's that weigh a ton), and is a wonder with not having to use the foot pedal, etc.
Enjoy yourself. Have fun. I still have my first machine purchased in 1968. It is the aforementioned Singer..................... Anita |

CONGRATS!! Is this your 1st emb machine or have you embroidered before?
Isacord thread is great to emb with. I can't wait to see what you make. If you need help, Holler. I don't have a Brother, I have a Bernina but I have been embroidering for almost 2 years now. |
Does embroidering by hand count? This is my first Embroidery machine and I am learning as I go. So far I am finding my bobbin thread is comming to the top instead of my top thread what am I doing wrong? and also how do I make a space between words when embroidering?
|
As far as the spacing, someone with a Brother can tell you, because I don't know about Brothers.
But when threading your machine, floss your thread to make sure it is seated in the tension disks correctly. See if that helps. |
Floss my thread? please explain what you mean.
|
When you thread your machine, hold it where it comes off your spool of thread and after you pass it thru the tension disk, hold that end of the thread and before you thread the needle, just move it back and forth like you would floss your teeth. Then thread the needle. Make sure your needle is in the up position.
|
Thanks

How exciting!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get mine! I am hoping if all goes well to get mine Spring/Summer!
|
when I got my brother, I bought the PE basic so I could get patterns off the computer....there are actually thousands of free embroidery patterns. I paid about $120 on ebay for mine but cheaper than buying all those CDs.....try gogglings

Okay you can have several things going on. I have learned this the hard way with my 2 brothers. First only buy brother bobbins, go to a brother dealer, prices are good and you will get the right bobbin. I know I did the same thing bought the size that they said at JoAnnes and they aren't the same size. Also if you are using the net your tension might be to tight try with out the net. Your upper tension needs to be between 2 and 6 I would try 4. Last but not least, make sure the embriodery thread slides easily through your needle, because the eye might be to small. I hope this helps.
|
That's wonderful! Have lots of fun with it & let us know how you like it. I've been drooling over that machine for a while, but couldn't get up the nerve to go ahead and buy it
