Life is so hard, sometimes I just don't think I can go on!
Cat is older now and gets awful scabs around her eyes now. She has to take prednisone for it. But, it gets chronically worse every year. No wonder she's so grumpy. Your dog looks like my Buzzy. Pretty cats too. Are they buddies with the dog? What are their names?

Cute critters. 8) Wish mine would just give me the evil eye. She flips the bird when "displeased".

The dog is a Maltese named "Charming Billy." The cat is "Suzie." They're my parents' pets. They actually love Suzie. I can't stand her, actually. She's a rotten cat as ever they go. You can't pet her, pick her up, play with her.
But, she does have her quirky attributes. She follows my mom and dog around the house when she's walking the dog around the yard. She must drink from the faucet. Don't insult her with a bowl of water. She has her way of seeking attention. I'm guessing she gets in the ceramic bowl in the summer because it must feel cool. She won't tolerate a brush be taken to her fur. |
 Oh the agony of it all!

Oh how funny Cordelia......kinda spoiled....sounds like she is going through menopause........I would try some vasoline around her eyes...
|
Aww great piccies Cordelia...what is that saying about who owns who about a cat??? she is lady of the manor by all accounts, shame about her eyes, is it an allergy problem?
|
Those are too cute and funny!
|
They are both so cute! The cat looks almost identical to my male Himalayan. He is so rotten. He won't drink out of a water bowl either but would rather use the toilet. Go figure. I just figured it was a male thing.

The eye thing is a chronic issue that becomes more and more bothersome the older they get. My seal point Hymmie has the same problem. It seems when they're older, their immune system isn't on the ball as much and a lot of things like that crop up.
The vet gives an ointment for the eyes. But, they used to have these great black lined eyes that have become red and swollen now. It's a shame. I don't know if it's an allergy because the problem comes and goes randomly. But, now that they're older, the problem has become more severe. It looks terrible, I know. But, that's the breaks. There really isn't much the vet can offer to stop it. Prednisone clears it up, but it comes back even worse. Eye ointment heals it up, but the scabs keep coming back. |
Those two cats are funny, and you can tell they are mad.
|
You could try making a solution of boric acid and water. And clean every day with cotton balls. It take care of a lot of problems with the eyes and may keeps the scabs from forming........sweet animals :D

yep life is sure tough for those little furry critters.. how do they do it!!!!
I have learned from watching my kitty Miss Mew that she teaches me the real definition of relaxation and not to stress out..... She has it down to a science! ahhh yes, the ultimate test in her quality control job.. the cat nap test.... Missy has a fetish for carrots... like catnip.. which she could care less for, she prefers good ole carrots to get her high fix sunning herself.. Those are to funny. My daughters cat hasn't been on any quilts yet since well I have them put away right now but she did lose my seam ripper for me and I asked her to find it which she did in her own time. lol
