Those are going to be gorgeous! I can't offer any suggestions though.

I do the same as cutebuns, take a picture, move the blocks and take another picture. Then you can see which patterns appeal to you the most or if anything stands out needing to be moved. Sometimes I think I liked something the first way and can't remember the exact placement of the blocks without the photo for reference.

Try to get as straight on shot as you can (I print out full sheet picture on my laserjet and just use regular paper.) and then you can take a look at it that way, and continue the same way until you are happy, you can still take breaks doing it this was as well. come back ever so often to take another picture and look.
Also, a photo can help one recreate the layout that you really liked better four rearrangements ago. |
i think they're pretty

They're both beautiful.
I can't help on the placement as I have never done a OBW. For me, it's nice to play with placement especially if a friend helps and gives a different perspective but I'd set a limit to how many ways I'd twist and turn it.I think it would drive me crazy if I had to decide how they should go. I'm kinda like omak... I'd just do it----I could change my mind hundreds of times and many of the layouts would appeal to me but gosh, I can only make one design in one quilt. But hey, that's just my opinion. ranger |
Everytime I see one of this quilts I want to make one sooo bad! haha I think they both look stunning and I can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Thank you all for your comments, compliments and suggestions. I have not taken out my quilt since I rolled it up the other night. It's certainly a challenge for me. The layout process is always the worst part of the quilt for me. So I will forge on and keep you all up to date.
Thanks again!! M |
try putting all bright colors in the middle and then the blues around them and then the black, if you have to many bright colors for the center, maybe 4 one for each corner.
