Japanese Lantern
1 Attachment(s)
I copied an old quilt made by my grandmother. She used black borders and the black fabric has disintegrated. Her quilt was made in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. She made it before she married in 1905. I have it hanging on my stairway so it only shows about a quarter of it. I loved making it and pieced the lanterns by hand and appliqué them to the squares. I felt her with me every stitch of the way.❤️

Thank you everyone. My grandmother raised me and she was and is the central influence in my life. Making this quilt was a time spent with her and I was almost sorry to finish it. I truly believe she is always with me.❤️
