I saw this on my LSQ's facebook page. I only used a jelly roll that had 24 pieces - wanted to see how well it worked first.

Of course I missed the step that said to miter the ends and I sewed them straight and I didn't mix up my pieces well enough so some of them are right next to each other....

The length is perfect the width is too small using only 24 pieces but I can add a border and make it wider. Had fun doing it and it only took 40 minutes....

Thanks - this was a small jelly roll I picked up at wal-mart - called Slices by fabric editions. I loved it and it was inexpensive $8.00

It was fun to make and time to see how long it took!!

I just copied the directions. I want to do that one one of these days. I love the mitering idea. Would have never thought of doing it that way; sewing one continuous strip and then sewing the ends together, etc. Who thinks of these things?!?!?!?

That is such a cute looking quilt! Love it!

The one thing I learned is when you are folding it up and sewing it - switch sides - that is how to keep the same pattern from blocking up against each other....when you sew down on the right side - after you cut it to open - flip it over so your sewing down what was the left side....I want to go buy another jelly roll now so I can try again....

I did a jelly roll before Christmas. I want to put a board on but can't figure out a fabric to use and need to pick out backing also. I think my jelly roll is my favorite.

I love your fabric!!

I made one of these last month and I think it doesn't matter how much you mix it up you always end up with some fabrics next to each other.

I'm dying to try one of these.
