Phew! These pixel quilts take patience. I cut the squares 1.25". I took a break before adding the borders and quilting it. I liked the new idea-for me-of cutting the binding 3.25" and pressing in half. I stitched to front and folded to back before using automated stitch to finish. It measures 90" by 96".

Wow! That's great. Did you really have to sew all of it form 1.25" squares? Or did you clump some of the larger sections into larger pieces? Either way, that's a lot of work and you did great.

That is WOW! I have for some time now wanted to try and do a pixel quilt...your beauty gives me inspiration to try!

WOW!!!, 1.25" squares, then sewn together makes them quite small but it came out wonderfully. As to why the wide binding, that seemed a bit too wide to me but what do I know? I also fold mine in half but I've come to like 2.25 from 2.5" binding but it also depends on what type of batting you're using also so that may have been your reason. What is "automated stitching for the binding as I've never heard of that? I used to stitch mine to the front and then hand sew to the back but now I stitch to the back and then stitch to the front by machine as my hands just don't like to work as nice as they used to as I age.

Thanks, ya'll. I use automated stitches on my bindings. My old Bernina only had 20 choices, so after 40 years of the same ones, I invested in a Bernette just for the additional stitches. It also programs alphabet, so I started sewing binding at lower right corner and stitched "by AUTUMN" before selecting a loop-de-loop stitch for the rest! Sometimes, I just use a serpentine stitch. It is a slow process, but I have patience, right!
I do, in fact, have my next pixel project kitted up. It is a Mandala Fish pattern that I purchased on Etsy.
I create blocks of 100 squares, then stitch the 10 rows of 10 pixels and stitch them together. With batiks, I don't even need to trim! At the end, I do fill in background with whole pieces.

But right now I am fixin' to sandwich my Surfer Girl applique. Gonna press the backing and start today. I used Steam a Seam2 for the project and boy, did it gunk up my needle and shred/break thread. YT said project needed more heat to properly melt glue, so I ironed it well. Still gunk. So, then I went to Singer Center to buy a super Teflon needle. Still, just stopped every few inches of satin stitching to wipe down needle. I hope quilting it will be better.

Thanks, but it is queen-sized. It is on my bed. BTW, white fabric is Glow in the Dark! Very cool.
