yes, I used the Rapid Fire to make a king size quilt, and it turned out perfect...... That is the good news...... The bad news is the process is cut, sew, press, trim, a million times per block (I exaggerate, but not much). ....... Now I love to "square up" my blocks, because I make a lot of scrap quilts, and I over press and sometimes use starch/water which shrinks and makes things go wonky. But this rapid fire technique has you doing it at multiple times during the block making. Since I never made one trying to "match the points" I don't know if this template is a blessing or a curse. I also felt I was cutting away half the fabric I bought at a premium price, and for king size, I wasn't happy. ....But again, It turned out perfect,,,,and had I done all that work, and spent all that money, and it didn't turn out, I would have been more than unhappy.

The Accuquilt GO eliminates a lot of that trimming. Love your quilt, such happy colors.

Thank you so much for all the kind comments on my quilt. I do have the Tucker HS template and I will give it a try one day. When I saw Jenny's tut on this one I was hooked and really needed practice on hst's.

I adore the Hunters Star pattern and have made a couple but yours is definitely the nicest I have seen, it's the colours and pizazz it has. lucky lucky GD.

I love it! Such a cheerful quilt. I have been paper piecing my hunter stars, and really like the accuracy with that method

Luv2sew4fun 04-26-2016 04:21 AM

Love the colors!

Donnamarie 04-26-2016 05:35 AM

Yes, I have made 2 quilts using the Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Hunters Star ruler and love both of them. Using her method, you end up making each square a little larger and then square them up. The ruler is definitely worth the investment if making this quilt. It is a lot of work but the end result is fantastic! Good luck

Hi - I didn't go through all 10 pages of comments so if this is a repeat -my apologies.
I visited Missouri Star Qlt site 2 days ago and in Jenny's tutorials, there was one on the
"Easy" Hunter's Star. I haven't tried it yet but I saved the tutorial. It's worth checking out.

tessagin 04-26-2016 12:47 PM
