Finally--I finished this quilt. Started it in March and I just now finished it. This is my first picture post so I hope it works. Now I can play with my new embroidery machine!

very very nice quilt, the holder upper looks pretty cute too
WOW ! Love both the quilt and the Quilt holder  Is she the lucky one who gets the quilt ? Great Job and adore the fabric

Yes, she is the new quilt owner. She is crazy over horses and doesn't see why we can't keep one in the garage and backyard!
Pretty fine use of that horse fabric!
Beautiful use of this fabric!
I have seen another quilt with that gorgeous "horses in snow" fabric that had a large center panel of the fabric and I must say I like what you have down by fussy cutting the horses ... and the fabrics you have chosen make the colors in the horse fabric just "pop" ... Jordan looks very happy with her quilt ... great job! Pat |
Pretty. I like blue. It's my favorite color.
WOW... I LOVE the black sashing... perfect!
Beautiful!
Thanks everyone. The black sashing is actually the back. I did it a cross between a rag quilt and a fun and done.

pretty please? It sounds like fun ... Pat |
actually, fun and doneare special patterns but what I did is: I cut my backing 10" and my batting and top 8" for the horses and the backing 6" (8" for beginning of evry other row in blue) and 2" smaller for batting and top piece. I then quilted it with X and and cross like in a rag quilt. I sewed the rows together with a 1" seam and then folded the backing and stitched it down. I h ope you can understand what I just said. Maybe with the picture you can see what I mean. I like it better than rag quilting because I always have threads all over the house.

She looks thrilled with that beautiful quilt! |
That's a GREAT horse quilt. My gd would love it. I assume Jordan is the one holding it up. She's a cutie and looks alwful happy.
Oooo, that's pretty!
I really like the way you outlined your blocks, and the way you staggered them. Great job!
That's really a neat quilt!!! (Gives me an idea about how to make my kitty quilt  )
Now I know what I will do with the animal print I have, and I like how you made the quilt, a great idea.
very pretty's From W.v

Beautiful! And so is Jordan! It is obvious she is tickled pink by it! Good job.
What a Great Quilt!! Jordan is a very lucky girl.
It is "pointless", (no points to match), which is my favorite kind. So many things could be substituted for the horses and what a quick and easy baby quilt. Those babies just seem to come faster and faster. |
Stunning quilt. Like the layout and especially the colors.
Quilt and holder are great. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like the quilt has a nice home. She will enjoy it on those cold nites.
Beautiful job...and I understand perfectly how Jordan feels about horses...I was the same at that age.
Thanks for explaining the technique and once again I think it's terrific. |
How pretty, the quilt and the girl! Love how it all goes together!
