Very nice! Don't you find the cutting instructions for JN Patterns quite daunting and hard to follow?

celwood 03-12-2014 06:25 AM

Great job. I have not done any of her quilts; I have to build some confidence in my quilting

woody 03-12-2014 12:09 PM

Thank you so much everyone. I am really pleased with the finished quilt, I seriously doubted I would ever finish it for a while there, especially the quilting of it.
I found I wasn't very good at squiggly lines from some directions so I had to manouver the quilt more than I would like too, I really wished I had a long arm for this one. :)

The cutting instructions are daunting at first, I read and re read the pattern about 3 times and then just started at the beginning and just kept working through. I didn't find that they were hard to follow but for a quilt this size there was a LOT of cutting first. I loved that all the pieces were cut a labeled before I started piecing and it made the piecing go so much quicker. There was also very little wastage by pre cutting the pieces.
I have 3 more of her patterns and I'm sure I will find the next one easier :)
