My Virtual Quilt Weekend was to finish these. I almost made it :o. I delivered them today after a couple of days of show n tell. The bright squares was made with the $1/yd WM clearance fabric. Two of the diagonals were quilted with the serpentine stitch. The green diagonal was ruler work as orange peel quilting. The other two were previously shown. And I made another afghan for donation. The placemats were made from some home dec fabric that was donated and I didn't want to throw away. They'll be sent to be used by folks receiving Meals on Wheels.

You never cease to amaze me with your thoughtful donations...I’m curious as to how much time you sleep at night? : )

Thanks. Unfortunately I only get about 6 hours, wish I could sleep longer.

Beautiful projects, and I really like the Meals on Wheels idea... haven't thought/heard of that avenue for donations before. I have an absolutely gorgeous panel that I've never been able to figure out how to use but would work for something like that.

When I need a [frequent] break from quilting and other tasks... I sit here at the computer. haha

I love what you do! Giving back is so wonderful. Your quilts are lovely and will be so appreciated. I quilt, knit and crochet for the homeless. This year, the crochet group I belong to will be making small lap afghans for our local meals on wheels. You have given me the incentive to start making more quilts to donate. Thank you for sharing your good work!!

sprice 08-15-2019 05:22 AM

Nice job, Nan. Bet those placemats will be greatly appreciated. My Dad received Meals on Wheels for a while and it was the highlight of his day. Don't think it was the food as much as it was having someone acknowledge him each day. It is a great program.
