Jungle Abstractions quilt: The Lion
4 Attachment(s)
This quilt was a real challenge for me. I am ready to toss it in the trash. When I am really frustrated by a quilt it gets thrown in a closet for a few months until I am ready to take it out of "time out" and look at it again. This one is heading to that closet.
Pattern is Jungle Abstractions - The Lion by Violet Craft. It is paper pieced and quilted on my DSM. I have never done any quilting accept SID, so I learned a lot about tension issues and the challenge of keeping lines straight. Squaring up a quilt with no blocks was also a first for me. I'm still not sure it is very square, but it is done and I am moving on. Last pic is of my backyard, I love the summer flowers. Elise |
This is a handsome quilt! I think you did a great job and the design is cool, to get all the shadings and shape of the face…
Good for you to tackle something this complicated! |
Your lion quilt is stunning! The eyes really draw me in. I've had quilts that got the "time out" closet. It happens, and then I have a change of heart--or not--and by pure grit finish her and then love her when she's all quilting and bound and washed.
Your backyard looks like a plot of paradise! |
Great quilt and beautiful flowers!
