Boy I have worked for 2 days putting the stripes together. Talk about being dumb twice I added a stirp upside down. Than had to rip it all out.
Than to say how stupid I was I had it completed hung it up to take a picture and right in the middle a whole stirp was upside down and didn't even notice. LONG day. Besides having to remove and resew that strip and to seam rip out the border stripes.
I planed to bind it with the navy and white dot fabric. And guess who doesn't have enough of it . swore I had a good yard and half but can't find it anywhere.
So not sure what to use for the binding .e

That is amazing! I love it! I've had a few of those long days when just when you think you're finished, you realize you've made a mistake...ugh! You did a great job!

Sorry for you piecing problems, but what a cute quilt!

Raggiemom 04-30-2011 11:46 AM

Very pretty, how about a white binding?

Could have used artistic interpretation as the butterflies flew south... It looks lovely

I love it reminds me of a quilt my Grandma had when I was child.

Lovely.

Nice! I have found that if I take a picture, even from my phone, I can tell if I like the color layout and also pick up mistakes easier. I do that before I sew and it saves a lot of trouble.

Now that's a great idea! I know that an antique doll will show any eye chips or flakes in a picture, even when you don't see it otherwise. I never thought of using pictures for quilts, but definitely will from now on... Thanks!

Very pretty, I would use some of the blue for the binding or if you don't have enough then I would use a color out of it. Just my opinion. You did a great job. Seems when I start making mistakes it is time to stop but, I just keep plugging along.

I'm glad I could help! I swear by it, too. Changed a lot of quilt lay outs by taking a pic first!

Love it! I think I would use a solid blue for the binding if you can't find the other yardage.

wolfkitty 04-30-2011 05:48 PM

I was thinking of solid blue, also, for the binding. Or something in a dark blue that you may have.

earthwalker 04-30-2011 07:20 PM

Very pretty...well worth all the "dramas".

"Mama said there'd be days like this..."

You are not alone.

It seems to me that I rip out so many seams that when I'm done I've made one quilt twice.

annieshane 04-30-2011 08:56 PM

Great combinations and love the borders.
