Hi there! I finished up all of my Field of Diamond blocks last Wed, March 17th. I laid them all out and it's going to be really pretty. Thurs, I sewed the first 2 rows, and then sewed row 1 and 2 together. That's as far as I've gone on it. I've been just doing a little bit of everything else but that. I made my first 12" Bargello block on Friday and 12 Mini Star blocks. Sat I made this really pretty block that I've been wanting to try. It's called a Double Aster. And today, I started trying to learn to Paper Piece. I made the square in a square and then made a block called Lucky Star #2. I still need practice, but it was fun trying to learn. Here's a bunch of pictures of what I've been doing for the past week.

Oh No! I am the same way not being able to stay focused on a project. My children say I have ADD. I love the bargello block, I am definitely going to have to try that.. Thanks for sharing and glad to know I am not the only one to jump around on my projects...

danmar 03-21-2010 04:15 PM

Thank you everybody! I really want to make a Bargello now, but not the rippled kind. No, I want the twisted one that I don't have a pattern for and have never made. I'm still deciding on what to do next, so I'm still piddling. Thanks again for your interest and compliments. I'm glad I'm not the only one who "just can't seem to get it together". LOL

My poor old head is too pointed for that!

craftybear 03-21-2010 04:35 PM

Wow, awesome projects, thanks for sharing your cool ideas!

Jim's Gem 03-21-2010 04:38 PM

Focus on one project!!! Unheard of!!! At least in my house, I have,.... uh...... several projects that I am working on all at once.
They all look great. Love your fields of diamonds!

barnbum 03-21-2010 04:58 PM

Oh my goodness--I love everything!!!!
The field of diamonds is amazing... and the bargello... and your paper piecing is dreamy!!!! Double Aster is not paper pieced?? I love that pattern!!! It's so precise--and looks very tricky!

I can join in this "problem". I need to add halters and buttons to one horse/stable top, finish quilting the 4th Talk-About, and I have about 1/4 of the blocks done for Splash of Fall... it's been so nice out, so I've been outside.

mimee4 03-21-2010 05:11 PM

Welcome to the club. I have so much planned just for tomorrow. We do get it done - some time.

Rhonda 03-21-2010 05:14 PM

Creativity can be exhausting! LOL Doing several differant projects just shows how talented you are!!

No, the Double Aster is not paper pieced. It looks tricky but the pattern is really simple. It shows exactly how to do it. Here's a link to the pattern if you want to try it. Thank you for all the compliments. Oh well! I'm off to see what I want to start now! LOL I should be finishing up that FOD, but I'm tired of working on it right now.

earthwalker 03-21-2010 07:19 PM

Fantastic work...Yes...my word for the coming weeks is FOCUS!

Lilaciris 03-21-2010 07:42 PM

I was feeling bad that I was the same way......

thanks everyone for fessing up, now I know I'm not the only one.

Danmar, I pulled out my nine patch and HST blocks from some swaps I was in years ago. They are both made the same size, with Moda Marbles black and bright fabrics. I'm in the process of putting them together based on one of your quilts, Northern Lights.

I'm going to call mine Psychedlic Lights.

Yeah!!!! That makes me very happy. I'm glad that you enjoyed the quilts that I posted. I'd sure love to see a picture of it! Please make sure that you post it or I'll send you my email for a sneak peek! And I agree with you! It's nice knowing that I'm not the only one with this problem or not staying focused! Thanks everybody!

tlrnhi 03-22-2010 05:25 AM

BEAUTIFUL!

Jingle 03-22-2010 10:36 AM

All of this are beautiful and I hope you finish and show pictures of them, completed.

I only work on one at a time, I don't have a place to stash unfinished projects. I completely finish one before going on to the next. I do start planning out the next as I am finishing one.

Oklahoma Suzie 03-22-2010 01:27 PM

all are cute

dkabasketlady 03-24-2010 09:31 PM

Fantastic work!!! You have been one busy lady!!!

wvdek 03-24-2010 09:47 PM

Great projects.

I think you are in good company. I tend to jump around when bored or can't figure ot something on the current project.

k3n 03-25-2010 12:49 AM

Looking good! Field of Diamonds is coming along a treat! And it's good not to do one thing at a time - you don't want to be (horrors!) a 'serial quilter'! LOL

Hi k3n! Funny!! Yeah! I got the Field of Diamonds blocks all sewn into rows yesterday. I hope to get it done soon though, as I'm losing interest in it now.

reneebobby 03-25-2010 03:14 AM

they all look wonderful

Oh, I know that feeling! Either a) push yourself and get it done, with the 'reward' of being 'allowed' to start a new project or b) put it away and come back to it another day! I often do one or the other when I get that 'I'm sick of the sight of you' feeling about a WIP. Ermmmm, if I'm honest, I do b) more often than a)! Hence my signature line!

I'm about to start cutting into my fabric this afternoon to make my version of this pattern. It was that or start an OBW, couldn't decide so I tossed a coin! How sad am I?

I love the colors you have chosen. Really makes your blocks pop! Very, very nice work.

Bailey's mom 03-25-2010 04:58 AM

You go girl! I am the same way and just can't seem to get a whole project done...There has to be a UFO room in heaven for me to finish all of these up...or I have to live to be 500!!!

Justquilting 03-25-2010 05:03 AM

Love your field of diamonds.
Your blocks look great
Having more than 1 project keeps your creativity going.

danmar 03-25-2010 05:09 AM

Thank you everybody for all of your sweet comments. I love to sew and try to design my own things.
