Now that is a lovely collaboration. The yellow rings around the green four patches, remind me of sunflowers. That yellow really warms up the pallet and feel of the quilt. You hand quilting is the perfect compliment. Bravo to both of you!

Beautiful

bgullett 06-02-2011 06:09 PM

ivlu 06-02-2011 06:13 PM

Very pretty LOV the yellow

feline fanatic 06-02-2011 06:16 PM

Now that you have saved the day by quilting this for your friend I am sure she will think she was crazy for almost throwing it away. You did a great job with your handquilting. What type of batting did you use? The picture makes it look like it is a higher loft batting which is so hard to hand quilt and acheive the tiny stitches you have.

Beachbound 06-02-2011 06:17 PM

I love how you hand quilted it! I am thinking about making one & thought I would do a design in the center but I really like how you echoed the pattern...sure glad I saw this! TFS!

debcavan 06-02-2011 06:22 PM

I used 8 oz poly. I buy it from Marshall Dry Goods in a big roll. My quilting club uses it too and all our people we quilt for love it. It is very fluffy and holds up well. Thank you all for all the wonderful comments, sure makes me feel good !!!

My heart cracked when I read... she thought she might throw it away... I love it. Want to make one myself but still not ready to tackle it.

Krystyna 06-03-2011 03:58 AM

That is just lovely. Thank you for sharing it. Why on earth would she throw it away? Yikes!

piepatch 06-03-2011 04:01 AM

Very pretty quilt. I love the yellow in the quilt top, and I love the yellow backing. Thank goodness your friend didn't throw it away!

Beautiful! Really like the way the four patches are circled by the yellow.

QweenBee 06-03-2011 04:40 AM

Great job, but I guess I'm lost, why would she want to through it away?

Normacharlie 06-03-2011 06:05 AM

Me either! I would never throw anything away. I haven't had the nerve to try a wedding ring yet, but I will one of these days.

JCL in FL 06-03-2011 06:09 AM

Very nice. Love the hand quilting. It just seems right on the old patterns.

grannypat7925 06-03-2011 06:22 AM

It's beautiful. I have not seen a wedding ring quilt lately. I personally don't have the patience to make one, or especially hand quilt one! Lovely!
