Oh my, that is gorgeous. i would think it would be easy to make a mistake on that one. I feel for you. i also made six mistakes on a quilt and had to rip out and re-do. then the next quilt had two and i had to rip out. i never rip!!! well hardly ever.

This is an amazingly striking quilt....the pattern - which i have not seen done like this before - and the contrast of the fabrics is just beautiful. Sorry for the rip out session - but this one was obviously worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for all of the compliments. My mistakes were in placing the end triangles. I forgot the last cream bar on 6 triangles. I saw the mistakes when I look through the camera at it, never took the picture.

The pattern is called Autumn Almanac in the Quilts from Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks magazine, Spring 2013.

The original quilt was done in 5 colors, but I thought that a two color would be pretty striking.

This quilt is for our next door neighbors. They have been a great help this year. While I have been dealing with my husband's health issues and 4 hospitalizations, John and Michelle have always been available to help. They have been wonderful about making sure that the dogs were let out during the day, mowing the grass for most of the summer, and even picking up my husband from one of his hospital stays in DC. I am no longer able to drive that far, and the volunteered to pick him up. They have definitely proven to be the "Good Neighbor" just when we needed it. So this is a small token of thanks for everything that they have done for us.
