That is so cute. I'm sure they are going to love it.
Cute quilt! I'm sure the library appreciates your efforts! Thanks for sharing! :)
Looks great.
wonderful quilt. and the feet and face are not too bad, either :-D .
if they don't hang this, all the kids will be arguing over who gets to cuddle with it during reading time. |
The quilt is adorable and I love the backing fabric. Some lucky child will enjoy this one.
Really pretty....
Just got back from dropping it off--it shall be raffled and the winner will be determined at the Chicken Barbecue on the 28th! She had the signs up before I left.
What a neat idea! Lucky library!
You are such a special person!! I like the quilt.

This will keep the readers warm this winter.
Sew cute. Fine job
It's sooooooooo cute!
It turned out really great!!
My d-i-l came over today and said again how much she loves this quilt. She wasn't saying that to have it--just loved the bear and the bright colors. I showed her the first one with the alphabet cut off a bit and asked if she liked that one--she did. So, she knows when she's ready for it, it's saved for her. We'll pull it out when she's ready and she can choose a back and I'll finish it up. Everyone is happy!! :-)

Oh my what a wonderful quilt.. I hope they hang it in the children's section.. away from grimy hands, but not too far away to be seen. It's beautiful.. great job.. Love your smooth meander quilting.. I still get hookies on my nice smooth curves now and then...
i wish you had been my m-i-l. anyone else could have had mine. although i don't know why they would.
That's very cute! I'm sure they'll love it (whoever wins the raffle)!
Darling! I hope they keep it instead of raffling it. I can picture kids snuggling with it during story hour at the library.
OMG is that ever darling!! That would be great for the kids to sit on during story time!
It's perfect....your library is going to love this!
ohhhhh myyyy that quilt is fantastic great job on the quilting
was that from a pattern? |
Okay, I am dense. Did you put right sides together and stitch it up then turn it out and quilt only the center part? I am asking because I get in trouble every time I try this. Something ends up bunched up towards the borders. But...if you don't quilt the borders, then it doesn't matter. It looks like this is what you did but I can't really tell. Your quilt looks great and I think you're right about libraries. Ours are under such budget cuts that they are only open 24 hours a week now. But they are still not charging for held books or to order books on loan from other libraries. I think you made a great gift. You're a good egg.
Very pretty. Good job on quilting
That is so cute, and you did a fantastic job on it. God bless. Penny
Beautiful....will brighten up the library for sure!
Barnbum it looks great. I am glad you got the alphabet to come out as you wanted it.
I am the Library Chicken and I went to get a book, book, book. I ran into the library frog to show him, and all he said was "Ireadit" You have to read it quick but its fun. Just like that darling little quilt.
That turned out great Karla, and the FMQ is excellento! :D :D :D

So I ironed it all well and laid it out as best as I could, then pinned. I usually use basting spray, but couldn't. Then I quilted it from the center out, with the exception of zipping around an inside border to give it some stability. The first outside border has no quilting--didn't need it--but the outside border is quilted. I simply did a wide zigzag in and around the piano key border--I think that's what that design is called. :-D |

It is lovely. I remember the first one, and I am glad you dil likes it.
I LOVE my library as well. |
This is so sweet!
A very special quilt for a very special cause.
You know, as I look at it again, I see no reason you couldn't put a binding on it at this point if you relaly wanted to. It would be just for looks as the quilt is already in one piece, but it you like the look of binding... Either way, it's a super quilt.
Great quilt...I think turning it worked out just great on that one!
That is so cute, perfect for a library or an elementary classroom
its just fab..... was a generous donation
