The Christmas tree quilt I just finished the binding last night. Have just finished sewing this Country Honey Buns quilt for my oldest son. The white strips on the side will come off when it is quilted. I use them so that I can quilt to the edge. This is civil war colors. The last picture is a close-up of the colors.

Love em both! I so want to do some quilts with Civil war fabrics! My hubby wants something more traditional, so hoping that will appeal to him.

You did a fantastic job on both of them! And I like the Christmas tree quilt too.....a great lasting design!

lovely! The honey buns one looks so complicated. I love the christmas one but then I'm a real sucker for christmas anything!

quiltingruthie 02-25-2010 09:45 AM

The honey bun was not as hard as it looks. It is a beginner skill level and you just sew strips together than cut into squares. The pattern was from a magazine called Quilter's World--December 2009. I have to have patterns that are easy because I am not a great sewer or quilter but I keep trying. Ruth :)

I have a lot of civil war fabric, and I love this pattern. How easy is that! I am also going to look to see if I have the magazine, if not, I am going on line to see if it is still available. I love both of them, but the civil war one sure shows off its true colors..beautiful. Joanie
