My latest quilt I made using my new quilt machine. This started with fabric from a pillow case kit and the returned block from our block exchange a couple of years ago. I wasn't sure what to do with the block until I bought the pillow case kit. I originally wanted to make a wall hanging, but my bf said it would get too dirty in her shop. So I made a lap sized quilt for her home. I just pieced and arranged until I liked the arrangement. I used black bumpy dot minkee for the back. I put the front and backing right sides together, sewed around the edges and turned the quilt rightside out. I made the backing larger so I could have a little edge of black on the front. I stitched freehand and used the fabric for inspiration.

Very nice. I love the use of black and brights together. I've never worked with Minkee, but my friend does it a lot and will help me through my first time :)
