Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share - I just ordered the most lovely fabric to make a quilt for my niece. She is almost 1. My plan is to give this to her for Christmas this year, she will be close to being in a "big girl" bed by then. I made her older brother a quilt for Christmas when he was nearly 2 as well. The fabric line is called Flutter by Allison Jane Smith for Windham Fabrics. Here are some images - they are the FQ bundle, the border, and the binding. I will attach images of the backing and the pattern I'm going to use to the next message. This is the FQ bundle I need - 20 FQs. This is what I chose for the border. What sweet fabric, perfect for a little girl.

Then here is the backing fabric and the quilt pattern I'm going to use.
The pattern is so cute, and it is really easy, I think, just big snowballs. This pattern is layer cake friendly too. Oh, and here are some links: fabric: http://www.fatquartershop.com/Flutte...am-Fabrics.asp Pattern: http://www.maryscottagequilts.com/In...lt%20info.html Backing fabric. That is going to be so pretty. Perfect for a little girl. I can't wait to see it.

love it... can't wait to see it.

That is great fabric! Can't wait to see pictures when you get finished!

thanks, everyone. I'm pretty busy but am hoping to have it done sometime in the next 6 months. I think i probably won't even get the fabric for a few weeks (shipping from US to Canada) and then I have to hit a local store to pick out some cream or white to use for the sashing/border/etc. I will definitely post pictures as I go along!
I've never done a snowball before (this will be my 3rd full size quilt) but my quilting expert mom assures me they are easy. |
Just the perfect fab for a "big girl"!
