... but live and learn, right?

I finished this one in record time last night, and while I like the pattern, I like the quilting pattern, it just wasn't dense enough and it made the quilt look kind of weird. If I had more time I would have put some more quilting, but the person the quilt was for doesn't know the difference anyway. It had potential, but then I just gave up.

I really like it alot. The pattern is very interesting with lots of movement. I think you did a great job. Thanks for sharing. The person you made it for will be thrilled.

I like the design, but not the quilting. I agree with you there, it looks more like outline quilting?

sewnsewer2 03-14-2009 02:56 PM

I think it looks good!

Yeah, I used this pattern, but I didn' make the loops tight enough. I will use this all-over pattern again, but I will make the loops tighter and quilt the rows closer together.

Also, I forgot to mention that it's very small, like 32"x32", more like a wall hanging. I had a lot of fun doing the fmq, I do like the design.

It looks great!
I'm sure the person that gets it will just love it

sandpat 03-14-2009 03:41 PM

Since it is for someone else, they will be thrilled with it no matter what! I do like the patterns and it isn't nearly as bad as you are thinking it is, in fact...I like it!

Sharon M 03-14-2009 04:08 PM

I think it is great pattern and colors. As for the quilting, maybe not up to your standards or wishes but like you said for someone else and others don't always appreciate the time or amount of quilting anyway. But I think it looks great ...and....if she should not be happy with it for any reason   I can send my address

It's lovely! I personally like the quilting to be a little further apart. I think the quilt is softer that way.

dreamer2009 03-14-2009 04:24 PM

I'm thinking it's very nice Baren.

beachlady 03-14-2009 04:41 PM

I think your wallhanging will be most appreciated by your friend. How sweet of you to take the time to make this for her.

We're always the most critical of our work.
(I am anyway)

I think your friend is going to love it!

Most wonderful job on a last minute wall hanging. It is hard to be satisfied with a design when you had to hit the ground running. Part of making quilts is allowing it to roll around in your head for a bit before you actually start it. You did a great job on it and it is just fine the way it is. You could have been 'mean' and gave this gal a few fat quarters and a pattern wrapped in a ribbon. I say she should be eternally grateful for the gift. I did that with 3 of my nieces who kept bugging me for a 'potato' bag that you microwave. So I gave them all the stuff to make them along with the pattern. Hmmm... to my knowledge, not one of them has made it. Now that this project is done, you can work on something you want to :) :) :) :)

I love the colors!! And I think your quilting looks just great! Your friend is going to love it!!!

Quilt4u 03-15-2009 06:51 AM

I like it.

Moonpi 03-15-2009 07:27 AM

Wall hangings don't get a lot of rough wear. I think the visual impact of that great design will override any stitching glitches. Not every quilt wants to be a technical showpiece. Some just want to express love.

JoanneS 03-16-2009 11:51 AM

Sometimes it just feels good just to get the darn thing done! Glad it's going to someone, as you said, who'll appreciate getting a quilt, but who doesn't know enuf about quilting to know the diff! I really like the pattern and the colors and think it's a GOOD quilt, even if you don't.

mimee4 03-17-2009 05:11 AM

The pattern is terrific. Just stand back a couple of yards and look at it. You did a great job.

Bevanger 03-17-2009 09:32 AM

sharon b 03-17-2009 09:47 AM
