We go to the Rodeo in February and, even in Tucson, we freeze while sitting on the bleechers. We have a quilt we wrap up in, but the metal bleechers are KILLERS :)
Sooooooooo, I was inspired when I saw the Seat Pad K3N made for her mum and modified it for a Rodeo. Plus I did a little FMQ (still learning), and thought I'd put in 3 layers of batting. This coming February--we'll be toasty :) :) So, Thanks K3N for the inspirations. DH thanks you too :) :)

Oooo, I can imagine those cold bleachers, BRRRR..

Looks great!

Great idea!!! How about instead of 3 layers of batting, using that heat resistance stuff you use on potholders????????

Thanks all. I appreciate the kind comments...just want you to know it was inspired by k3n from this board :)
I do think I'm going to add some sort of handle/straps...to keep it rolledup for carrying to and fro. Then we could also use this when we're out hiking...just add to bottom of our pack.

That is great Sharon! Kudos to you...sounds like you took a thought and ran with it! I want one for baseball games!!

Very western looking.

My Grandma made seat warmers all the time - she must have been ahead of her time!

(At the time we didn't much appreciate them. )

I think that is a nifty idea...
I may have to make some up for my nephews football games cuz them bleachers get cold on my rump.

I never thought of the heat resistance stuff :) :) should work well for the cold too. I just also needed a little padding too (LMBO) :) :)
I think I'm going to make a few for my daughters since they log in a lot of time at sport events.

Awesome. Great idea using extra batting for a little cush. Since K3N inspired you here's to K3N--love it.

Jeannie 09-24-2009 05:25 AM

Great idea. What type batting did you use and did you machine quilt?

SharonC 09-24-2009 06:12 AM

Thanks. I used 2 layers of warm and natural and I had a scrap of "puffy" polyester left over from some other project which I put in the middle.
I did machine quilt it since I'm learning and needed some practice :) :).
It was tough putting on the binding because of that layers and one of the other folks on here suggested using the heat resistance batting--which may have been easier.
