This work in progress just needs borders and quilting.
A lot of my WIPs turn into UFOs at this point-- when I am trying to decide how to border them! |
No picture, but mine too ;-)

Love that! I love his Fabrics!
Wow I love this! I cannot wait to see you finish it!
oooo, there it is. I love his fabrics! Nice top.
I like the way you've lined up the swiggly fabric alternating the up/side ways. NICE :-)
Yep, me too, love love love his fabrics. Maybe I am addicted to his fabrics. I guess that's a good thing.
Qazy, I turned that striped fabric different ways in alternate rows. In one row it goes vertical; in the next row, it goes horizontally. I was trying to make the 9patch block look like exploding stars but it doesn't seem to look like that. Ah well, that was what I planned; this is what I got. =sigh= I like designing quilts because it is a voyage of discovery. I've been blessed and lucky enough to professionally quilt several amazing quilts for Kaffe Fassett and Liza Lucy, for publication in magazines and books. Most are so bright, I could use sunglasses in the workroom when I am quilting his quilts! The colors are so rich and saturated. I just love them. |
I love it. That pink polka dot is wonderful. Great job and thanks for sharing.
I see the stars. When the top is done and you view it from a distance I bet the stars will stand out. Lovely job. Love his fabric. Do youo hand quilt his quilts or LA.
interesting, eye catching pattern, love colors
Keep going. This one is great.
Lovely fabrics!
Beautiful job! I think the way you turned the stripe is just perfect...and I agree, when you get it done and step back I think you will see it in a different way.
Stunning! Love your choice of colors & prints.

I get word that they will be getting a quilt finished in a month or two, and I save a spot in my queue. When it shows up, they need it back asap. It always needs to be sent someplace, sometimes to London like for Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts, to be photographed for publication. |
I think the purple polda dot is screaming out to be the border. It's hard to tell the size of your blocks, but I'd do about 4 inches.
You gotta be good to quilt for Kaffe, is it stressful?

Quilting for Kaffe and Liza is no more stressful than for any other quiltmaker. I feel the same about every quilt I finish for someone--it's like a sacred trust to have someone give me their precious work. It's a collaborative process that I enjoy. The only added stress is that I know they are coming but once I get one of Kaffe's quilts, it needs to be out of here really quickly. So I ask for photos before Liza brings me the quilt, so I can make some design decisions ahead of time, mull it over and decide what to do, run my ideas for quilting designs past them before I even have the finished quilt here. It is all about planning. |
What interesting fabric and design.
