thinking about doing this as the "sashing". I need to make it bigger.

If you don't want the points to touch, just sew a quickie sash of the same color as your background (I know you said you don't want sashing...), if not, it looks fantastic! Those are gorgeous kalidascope squares!

I agree, by putting a 1" or so sashing of the background fabric, it will blend in and not look like sashing at all but yet it will float the kaleidoscopes.

It's coming out beautiful so far! :)

I agree with the sashing as the same color as the background fabric

I love it as is. The colors are so soft.

Very nice. You chose a nice contrast!

krazy4quilts 02-12-2010 02:58 PM

Thanks I am going with the same background color and "sashing" it. It works in that I am quilting as 1 block at a time, so will work out better.

am I understanding you correctly that you wanted to something other than just a strip of sashing? what about making mini blocks likes the larger ones you already have and making sashing from those? You could even reverse the colors if you wanted.

zz-pd 02-12-2010 06:10 PM

How about taking a shape from the center, which in this case, is the triangle and using that shape in the border. It's looking great so far.
